Sheldon and Emerson participated in the Kidzania be a Star Talent Contest. To participate in this, they had to submit an audition video. There were 2 categories, 7 - 9 year olds and 10 - 12 year olds. Four days before the event, they received notification that they were shortlisted to enter the Grand Finals.
When they went for the Grand Finals, they were surprised to learn that they both were competing in the same category, although Emerson wasn't 10 year old yet. It turned out that the category allocation was calculated based on birth year, not birth date. They would rather have played as a duo, rather than competing against one another, but there wasn't any group category.
The talent contest encompassed a wide range of talents and not just musical performance. There were dancers, singers, pianists, singing-pianists, singing-guitarist, drummers and a storyteller and hence quite competitive.
Emerson put up an awesome performance. This was his best performance so far.
Emerson performed "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons
Sheldon played "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran. He won 2nd runner-up in the 10 - 12 year old category.
All contestants were awarded a certificate. Congrats to all who got into the Grand Finals!
Sheldon got 2nd-runner up in the 10 - 12 year old category.
Sheldon was the only boy who won a prize. The first place went to a girl who did storytelling and
the 1st-runner up went to a gymnast / dancer.
