Mitsubishi Asian Children's Enikki Festa (Excellence Award - Emerson Chong)

Emerson and Sheldon won Excellence Award respectively in the 2017-2018 Mitsubishi Asian Children Enikki Festa for children age 6 - 12 years old. The winners were selected by the International Screening Committee in Japan. Enikki means  illustrated diary This event was designed to provide an opportunity for children worldwide to understand Asian people's daily lives through illustrated diaries.The theme was "Here is my life".

APRSAF 24 International Poster Contest

22 January 2018

Last year, Emerson won the “Special Poster Award” in the 24th Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-24) international poster contest with the theme “United Through Space”. His artwork together with the other winners were turned into a 2018 yearly and monthly calendar  which can be downloaded and printed.

Great news! Emerson participated in the Climate Comic Contest by UNICEF and is among the 20 shortlisted out of almost 3,000 entries worldwide. He needs your help to vote for his superhero, “EARTH BOY”. The entry that receives the most votes will be selected to work with a professional team to produce their own comic book to launch on Earth Day, April 22. He would like to raise awareness of climate issues with his comics.

National Space Challenge 2017 Poster Contest

Emerson was one of the 3 winners of the Best Poster Award for primary school category in the National Space Challenge 2017 Poster Contest organised by Planetarium Negara, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). The theme was "United Through Space". It was judged on how well the poster addresses the theme, creativity and originality.

This is his winning artwork. 

Emerson received a certificate and his prize was a package of science books. It was sent via Poslaju in a package with the words "Urusan Seri Paduka Baginda". We were pleasantly surprised to receive the certificate and prize.

International Children Drawing Contest 2017

Sheldon and Emerson participated in an International Children Drawing Contest 2017 on 5 August.  The theme was: Save the Earth.

Emerson emerged champion for his category (6 - 9 years old). Emerson's artwork will be exhibited in Japan. 

Sheldon won an Outstanding Prize for his category (9 - 12 years old)

Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2016

1 April 2016

The results 2016 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest were out today at the Toyota Malaysia website here. 
The Emerson won the silver prize in the ‘under 8 years old’ category at the national level. The silver prize was a mountain bike.

Emerson, working on his artwork earlier. His artwork was different from others as it was in cartoon form with speech bubbles. The completed artwork was submitted to Toyota Malaysia. 

After some weeks, we received a letter to collect the prize. We collected the prize, a mountain bike at the Toyota showroom in Section 19, PJ. 

We didn't know how to assemble it properly so we sent it to to a bicycle shop to have it assembled. Here it is after being assembled. He loves the bicycle very much and goes cycling with it in the evenings.

International Children Drawing Competition 2015

Sheldon and Emerson participated in the International Children Drawing Contest for ages 7 - 12, organised by JCI Petaling Jaya. It was held in Tropicana mall from 12.30 pm - 6.30 pm.The theme was "My Favourite Place".

 

Many children participated in the contest and brought along their own portable tables.

After some time waiting, the organisers announced the results. Sheldon and Emerson won consolation prizes and were one of the 30 finalists for the art competition. The artwork of the 30 finalists would be sent to their counterpart, JCI Japan for another round of selection at the international level.
